This policy explains how Padel Park Limited collects, uses, stores, and shares your personal information when you use our online shop at shop.padelpark.nz. It complies with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

1. Who we are

The online shop is operated by Padel Park Limited, 82 Duke Street, Frankton, Hamilton 3204, New Zealand. We are the “agency” for the purposes of the Privacy Act 2020.

2. What we collect

When you shop with us, we collect:

Contact details — name, email, phone, billing and shipping address
Order details — items purchased, payment method (last 4 digits only, never the full card number), order history
Account details — if you create an account, your login email and a hashed password
Browsing data — pages viewed, products clicked, time on site, device type, IP address — via cookies and analytics
Marketing data — whether you’ve subscribed to our newsletter, which emails you’ve opened, what you’ve clicked
Reviews & messages — any reviews you post or messages you send us via live chat or WhatsApp

3. How we use it

To fulfil your order — processing payments, shipping, customer service
To run our shop — analytics, fraud prevention, stock planning
To send you marketing — only if you’ve subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email
To respond to you — if you contact us via chat, email, WhatsApp, or review
To comply with the law — tax, accounting, consumer protection obligations

4. Third parties we share data with

We use trusted third-party providers to run the shop. They access only the data they need:

Shopify Inc. — e-commerce platform, hosting, payment processing
Mailchimp — newsletter and welcome email automation (if you’ve subscribed)
Globo (Smart Product Filter & Search) — product filtering and search on the shop
Shopify Inbox — live chat on the shop
Courier providers — NZ Post, CourierPost, or similar — for shipping

We do not sell your personal information to anyone. Ever.

5. Cookies & consent

When you first visit our shop you’ll see a cookie consent banner letting you accept all cookies, accept only essential ones, or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your choice any time from the link in the page footer.

The cookies we use fall into two groups:

Essential cookies — needed for the shop to work (login state, cart contents, checkout). These can’t be turned off without breaking the site.
Analytics & marketing cookies — used to understand how visitors browse the shop and to show you relevant ads on other sites. These only run if you accept them via the banner.

You can also disable cookies in your browser settings, but some shop features may not work if you do.

6. How long we keep your data

Order records — 7 years (required for tax purposes)
Account details — until you delete your account or request deletion
Marketing data — until you unsubscribe, then minimum retention only
Analytics — aggregated and anonymised after 14 months

7. Your rights

Under the NZ Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us to:

Show you what personal information we hold about you
Correct anything that’s wrong
Delete your account and associated data (subject to legal retention requirements)
Stop marketing to you — unsubscribe link in every email, or email us

To exercise any of these rights, email comments@padelpark.nz. We respond within 20 working days as required by law.

8. Security

We follow industry-standard practices to protect your data. Payment processing happens through Shopify Payments, which is PCI-DSS compliant. We never see your full card details.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email if you’ve subscribed. The version on this page is the current one.

10. Complaints

If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your data, email comments@padelpark.nz first — we’ll always try to resolve it. If you’re still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or 0800 803 909.
